The old centre of the public transport hub of South Buda (1942 Schall József) has been left without function. Our proposal is to make an extension to the existing building by covering with a glass cupola on the top of it. This way creating high quality, green public zone for all seasons, huge flexible space for cultural events, and also providing the missing palm house for the Budapest University of Horticulture.
The design is inspired by a movie of Benedek Fliegauf, where the citizens of a town are a metaphor of a forest. Instead of building a public square for the people, we provide a piece of forest for them, to meet in more private and natural area.
